Love Letter

To My Future,

Uhh... I guess I should start with "Hello"
Seeing as you are someone I don't yet know.
But I want to understand what you're about
From all of your strengths to all of your doubts.
So, what’s your name and your favorite color.
I can't help but wonder,
Since you're my significant other.
What will it be like when we meet?
Have we already met, but walked on ignorantly?
I don't know what you'll see
When our paths cross,
But whatever makes you fall in love with me
I'll consider all the more profit than loss.
What will you think when I say I don't like fish?
That, instead, chicken alfredo is my favorite dish.
Or that I like to sing in the shower,
And that instead of roses, the ruffled tulip is my favorite flower?
Just thinking about it all makes my heart fly,
280 miles per hour for the perfect guy.
Now that I've said all that I will,
Since my tears can't  seem to sit still.
So, now I'll lay down and try to sleep,
Wondering when you heart will mine to keep.

I fold up the paper and go to bed,
Wondering if my letter will ever be read.
My eyes close and I fall asleep.
The letter flies out of my window and into the street.
The wind picks it up again and off it flies,
It goes through your window and on your floor it lies.
